Re: Another reason to despise Knight Rider
I don't mind them at all, I bought the KR DVD box sets, well, what I could of them, and watched the show as a kid, growing up, it was great that the 3rd gen got that kinda love, and then...it was gone.
Burt Reynolds really helped the 2nd Gen sales with his Black n Gold T/A, in fact, was promised a car from GM, then staff their changed and he was declined. He had to pay for one, he says!
There was a story on Knight Rider about one of the tranport train cars falling over, or something, losing a few of the stage-cars, early in production.? I read that from the DVD set I believe.
I can see why you cry, he's basically "molesting" a collector car to make a custom "collector" car that he always wanted. I believe, he'd assume two rights don't make a wrong? hahaha That there's special value in making the Pace car a KR style car??

lol, i'm only 19 so way out of that time frame but I still love them. My neighbor has two knight riders. A second gen bird and the third gen. Neither of them have any power but nice to look at.
Although now that the page finally loaded( i hate dial up...) I see what your saying. I think i'd rather have my bird set up as the pace car.

Well at least someone in the world will be able to restore their pace car back to where it belongs while this guy is tearing one apart. It's like the cycle of life, when one person dies, a baby is born.
Well maybe some day down the road, a person will buy his knight rider car clone and realize it's a daytona 500 car, and restore it with GM approved OER parts, to still retain it's collector value. He's not destroying the car per-say. Nothing about the knight rider kits destroys what a third gen is/was. It's just a body kit with a cool dash that most people can't afford, so everything is reversable in the future. But i do agree, you have a 95% car, you bring it to 100%, not completely change it to something else, when there are thousands still base model cars that could be transformed into a knight rider. Then again, it goes back to the "it's his car, and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it and what he do with it."
Still curious he'd pay extra for a collector's edition car, and molest it with knight rider parts. Curious if the car is really rotted and he's just making an excuse to sell everything. This way he doesn't look desperate to make money, that he's selling them recreation-ally. I am impressed though that he didn't use the word "Rare" all over the ad.

The TV series is unbearable. Sure it's neat if you're a kid but as an adult it's insulting to intelligence. Knight Rider clones are just as stupid as any other TV/movie clone. But maybe more so since Michael Knight looks like a lost member of the Village People. It's hard to understand why anyone would want to emulate this *** clown.
In this case it's more frustrating then normal since the apparent donor car for his conversion is a relatively rare car with it's own history thats not nearly as gay.

Awww c'mon now, they still have reruns here and I still enjoy watching it. It's funny a good bit of the time because of how fake it is. Knight Rider is a lot better than some of the crap you see nowadays..for instance the new KR series.. WTH is that all about.

Looks like just another case of a guy building his car the way he wants to build it!!!!! Sure don't see anything wrong with that......
The TV show is lousy, but most everything on the tube is anymore.....

I just purchased the rear seat setup from him and will be picking them up.
I will let all know how bad of shape it is in.
