Re: WIKI 3rd gen

Actually, as it is Wikipedia, alot of people had a hand in making that page. And if you or anyone finds something wrong with it you can fix it. I think the engine summery on the third-gen Firebird page is better:

I may have only a V6 but at least its the 3.1 with 140 hp and 180lbs of pull. you go back into the 80's and the 2.8's were terrable.

Re: WIKI 3rd gen

To me, this makes it sound like all z28's came with the 'glass hood; "All Z28s came with lightweight fiberglass SMC hoods with functional hood air induction flaps on RPO LU5 cars."
But, didn't only crossfire z's come with the 'glass hood?
Anyways, I may just be misreading that sentence.

Re: WIKI 3rd gen

Also, I believe this statement is incorrect; "A newly required Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) was installed on the Camaro. 1986 was the only year to see this attached to the hatchback glass on base model Sport Coupes, Z28s and IROC-Zs; In following years it was implemented in the rear decklid spoiler, except for 1987 base models that did not have a spoiler."

I thought that the RS's (since they had the smaller spoiler, same one that my '85 z has) had the light inside the glass, at the top. I know that is how my '91 RS is.

Re: WIKI 3rd gen

No, the 82 and 83 cars had the fiberglass hood. I had an 83 LG4 with the glass hood.

The 3rd brake light was on the outside of the glass in 86 on all models. In 87, it moved to the rear spoiler on all models except cars without a spoiler. If there wasn't a spoiler, it went on the glass. Then the 3rd light was installed on the inside of the glass in 1991 on all models.
