92 trans am jamacian yellow
i need to know if anyone has a way to find out how rare my car is so i can show proof for my insurance. I have talked to my dealer and they dont have info on how many were made. the only info i have found is just on web sites. i would like to know what the options were when i bought and what was added. i bought the car used 8 years ago. I know the sun roof was added.

you can contact Pontiac historical services, i think they are in canada, they can send you the history of the car and productions number. If it is a 92 TA in yellow, its quite rare.
they made 969 Ta's in 92

Well.....
Right off the bat, there were only 969 1992 Trans Ams made....
https://www.thirdgen.org/1992-pontia...uction_numbers
As for the Jamaican Yellow part....I believe this applies to ALL Firebirds, not just the GTAs. Only 14 made! Check with Frankie on his #s, being GTA-only #s vs Firebird #s....

Re: 92 trans am jamacian yellow
Its in good condition black interior, 5 speed, 305 power locks, windows. 101,000 miles. i owned it 10 years i ago when i sold it stupid 23 year old. i wish i never sold it then recently i was going to lunch with a friend and saw it up for sale i of course purchased it back. it was the same car i got ride of years ago. the owner let it sit for about 2 1/2 years so it needed new tires and exhaust which are now done. there is some average rust under the battery. the power windows are a little slow but other than that everything else is good considering her age

Re: 92 trans am jamacian yellow
I am not sure how many were made, but these are the numbers I seem to remember off the top of my head.
GTA's - 14
Formulas - 26
Trans Am's - 34 or 36 ( not sure if this includes GTA's)
Firebirds - Unknown.
When at the trans Am nationals in 2002 PHS said that a Yellow 1992 Formula was 1 of 26 in Yellow, so I do not know if that was on the Formula that they had there or that was overall. I have seen WAAY too many to be a total of 26 for all cars.

Re: 92 trans am jamacian yellow
But it would be awesome to have multiple JY cars at the TA Nats, I am almost sorry that mine won't be there.
So does this mean that yours will be there Tony?
mrseadoo, are you coming to the TA Nationals this year? Dayton OH, Aug 28-30.

Re: 92 trans am jamacian yellow
I have about 2300 miles on my JY car since Jan, so you got some catching up to do Tony! Of course I did have a 2100 mile head start...
Do you plan on having your car in the stock class? Any mods besides the SLP stuff?

No mods but the SLP struts shocks and the 1LE brakes on the front.. maybe a secret mod or 2 wait till you see the pix or the car in person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (evil laugh)
Need 2 finish the Interior cleanup, headliner (flaps in the breeze) an some misc wiring
Need clutch, tires and fix a few more lil exhaust leaks..
Need 2 paint bumpers hood insert and fix+ paint rear spoiler..
I dont know what class Id be put in but most of my friends and I just want to park together and not worry about getting judged.. (I know that doesnt happen tho!)
Im there to hang out and enjoy the cars and new friends I meet..
I wonder If Leo1LE could make it also???
Sorry to hijack thread

Re: 92 trans am jamacian yellow
Question...
Why is it that SLP equipment is allowed as "Stock" because it was "Dealer installed", but my vert is considered a "Heavy Custom" and it too was "Dealer Installed?"
I know its a hijacking of a thread, but it makes me wonder...
