The guy must have been Smokin something not to let it go for $24K last time IMHO.

Being what it is, (a non performance IROC-Z with the LG4) $24K is a great sale price.

It should have sold for 16,500 in my opinion. At least what it was new but not any more than that. In fact I think it already costs too much. It still needs too much work. His reserve is still too high.

Re: The 4.3 Iroc is back on ebay...

I have to agree that it need to be cleaned up. At first when said that he wanted to sell it "As Is" I thought OK, let the new owner get it and do the clean up. Kind of an initial 'bonding' thing, but for that kind of money you'ed have to prove to me that everything was functioning. I think that the car being detailed, and assembled and with IROC wheels would reflect what the car looked like back in 85. The dirty look to it was kind of cool when he pulled it out of the trailer, but the novelty has worn off.

Re: The 4.3 mile 85 IROC is back on ebay...

That guy was nuts not to let it go for 24k...

sitting, not running, not being occupied is the hardest thing you can do to a vehicle.

I bet once the engine gets running again... it pukes oil then the trans goes too, if it doesn't catch on fire.

"not wash it to preserve what?" he prolly wiped a 1x1 in area and all the paint came up with it.

I'm just not sold that the car is worth that much, 12k maybe and I still wouldn't bid a dime over 5k myself. "but I'm crazy like that and would make it my parts car"

I'll give him $4000 for the POS. More than a not-rare, not-running car is worth.....

I was offered the car for $26k after the auction ended. I think that was probably less than his reserve the first time around but maybe that's what he has the reserve set at now.

Where you the one who bid the $24K on it, and are you still interested in buying the car?

No, I bid just under that. I think I was the second highest bidder. It's funny, I wasn't really interested in the car in the first place. I figured I'd throw in a bid and see what happened. It would definitely be cool to have but I was actually kind of hoping I wouldn't get it. I've already got more cars than I need and don't do anything with what I have right now. In fact, I've got one car I bought over four years ago and haven't seen it since the day I bought it.

I believe the car is worth something in the $25k range so I wouldn't have a problem paying $26k for it but I've got other things I'd rather have. I'm actually thinking of getting rid of a car or two instead of adding more.

I think the guy is nuts for not selling at $24k. I have to agree that after the car has sit for that long all the seals are shot. This car would have to be torn apart and a lot of work done before it could be started much less driven. Looks like a good parts car to me and nothing more.

No, I was offered the car for $26k and if I really wanted it I would have bought it for that. I really don't think his reserve is any lower than that this time but we'll have to see. Even when I was bidding on it last time I was actually hoping I wouldn't get it. While it would definitely be really cool to have, the last thing I really need now is another car.

Why would he wash it after all the time he spent making it look like it sat in a barn for years.... It's got that fresh barn look to it. That alone adds an extra $10,000!

well as someone already said...the allure of the barn find probably wore off already. Its been published in Hot Rod Magazine for gods sake.

I think the reserve has been met at $25K or at least I did not see the "reserve not met" anywhere on the page. I really hope if it does sell the new owner will show up on the boards so we can learn more about this car. There is a little more then 8 hours left of bidding I wonder if it'll will see a little more then $25K?

I agree 100% that it should be cleaned up and left as original as possible. But to keep up it value, it would have to be left as a trailer queen for life. It would start to drop in price quickly as soon as the miles are put on it.

The mileage is already being put on it just pushing it around as well as on and off the trailer...so thats already a moot point.

The only other way to keep the mileage down would be to disconnect the speedo cable from the trans. I wouldn't consider that cheating if it isn't being driven around.

I agree , this car would need a bunch of things to go ......... fuel filter , oil filter , air filter , hoses , belts , tires , brake pads and shoes , probably muffler and more ........... pray few times , could have tranny/engine surprise.
