I personally prefer the look of the old site. I could not care less who made the last post in each thread. All it does is give us 2 lines for each topic instead of one. I think it's easier to read.

Also, Mark A. Shields only has about 590+ posts at that point. That must've been long before he lost his 10k posts!!!

Scott, your account (settings atleast) don't show you are using the TGO Classic skin that IrocZ and I created some time ago to somewhat mirror the old UBB look (icons, colors, etc.) that TGO had for so many years. You can view it here:

No offense JT, but I have checked out TGO Classic and it isn't the same as the old site. It's just a skin on the new layout. My problem is that I like things simple, neat and uncluttered. That's just me. I find the new look more cluttered with the 2 line per thread look and the advertisements that pop. I'm not complaining, so don't get me wrong, I just prefer the simple look of the old site. In today's world and the size of TGO, that format won't work for most people on the boards. Plus, with the advancements in software and user requirements of today, the old site just wouldn't keep up. Nice run down memory lane though. Thanks

No offense taken. It was a joint effort. You are right that it's not 100% the same. It merely is a skin, that mostly consists of colors and icons, for those who preferred the look and feel of the old TGO. We are dealing with two different forum software; UBB, which is what you seen in the 2001 link posted above, and our current software vBulletin. While some of appearance differences could in fact be implemented in the vBulletin skin (such as removal of "last poster" information that you specifically noted), I think you are right that it probably wouldn't work today.

I just thought I'd share because we do have quite a bit of senior members who recall the old look of TGO, and they prefer to use the skin I linked above because it uses some of the same icons and colors of that period of time.

You know JT, I might just be getting old too!! I also like the idea of having cars without cupholders, manual AC/Heat settings, key locks on both doors, etc. Everything gets automated and more complicated each year. Does anyone know how to set the clock on my VCR?
