Finally Finished 85 Silver Iroc, back from the dead!
Well it took alot of blood, and sweat, and swearing, but here she is. The pics before show how I got her on the day it got to the house. Banged up rusted and missing stuff. The after pics show her about 3 months later. Mind you this was done in the driveway 100%. Turned out pretty nice for a WI driveway resto.
And here is her after the driveway treatment.

I reused the old one. It was cracked as they all usually are and scraped up pretty good on the bottom, but wasnt torn anywhere. I just sanded it initially to get the scrapes out then filled it in with some dynalite because bondo would never hold up to flexiblity.

How do ya know there isnt many Silver Irocs left? This one was kinda just sitting near a garage, shown 0 love and obviously had lotsa parts sold off of it. I thought the fog lights would have been the hardest to find, yet it turns out the hardest thing to find for this thing is the side skirt Emblems. They (from what I can tell) are like a tri color emblem. Almost looks like, red, light red, orange? Those seem to the hardest to find so far.

I've been a thirdgen enthusiast for many years, and I've never personally seen another met. silver IROC. You might consider a search for more info. Here's a link to start you off, should you be interested:

Re: Finally Finished 85 Silver Iroc, back from the dead!
To be honest, smelled like the thing had been wet and sat and baked in the sun for years closed up..Smelled like *** if you ask me lol. Surprisingly, the carpet was all good after cleaning the crap out of it and letting her bake in the sun for a few days. Headliner was toast for sure and am still waiting on the delivery of the new one. Seats were steamcleaned over and over and over again and left in the sun to really dry out. Once everything was cleaned up properly, the smell is pretty much gone. Amazing what a little elbow grease and cleaning agents and sun will do for a tired interior. Looking real good 86Sleeper, its good to see a fellow Wisconsinite 3rd Gen lover

I love threads like this.
Car looks great.
Makes me feel even more pathetic that all my projects turn to crap, while people like you can turn crap to gold.

Looks damn good! I love the look of the silver Iroc-z's And it looks like most of that was just surface rust right? Anyways do you have anymore pictures of it completed?
