so i have a little problem......
alright so i have been restoring my camaro and i have taken the complete undercarriage out of the car and had it sandblasted and powercoated. Now that i have taken the motor out of the car i have decided to paint the engine bay and now i dont want to put the new undercarriage back on the car untill its been painted. so that leaves my front end on jack stands.
my options...
Get the parts needed from the scrap yard and bolt them up temp and then paint it o nthe rolling chassis or build some sort of metal temp frame to hold the car up so i can push it onto a trailor.
im wondering is there is something very easy that you guys have used? any infromation would be awesome
Thanks
Douglas

Not sure if I follow you 100% but ...
Couldn't you go ahead and put the car back together and mask off the undercarriage components while you're painting the engine bay?

Re: so i have a little problem......
my bad, i am wanting to paint the whole car. The outside, the engine back and then the underside. So basically i am looking for something that i can roll the car on. so i can sandblast the underside and paint that too. i wanna keep the undercarriage off because i dont want any overspray on it(and possible pull the undercoat off my with sandblaster). but i think trying to go around it is going to cause me more grief. basically what im looking for is one of those car frame rollers. The one you bolt to the from rebar and the back bumper bar so i can rotate my car in the air. Basically making it easy to flip over the car so i can sandblast the undercarriage.
i can draw a quick picture if you still dont understand.

Re: so i have a little problem......
ok so after more searching i have found out its not worth the expense. It will cost 800 + 100 dollar brakets and then it cannot support the doors on the car. so i dont want to go that route either now.i guess i will really need to think about this again

Are you talking about a rotisserie? I'd say it's worth the expense if you really want to do a nice 100% restoration job. Most of our cars will never see that attention to detail. Is this going to be a show car or a driver? If it's a driver, then the rotisserie might be a little bit of overkill. But, you can sell it (the rotisserie that is, not your car) once you're done!
