HUGE project need help!
I am completly restoring my 92" black l98 I know it had red stripes but what is the deal with the rear decals red or silver? And if they are say red then as are the sides or no? And I have seen some with red wheels?I have seen pics of both.
Right now the car is striped down to 4 wheels and a gas tank. It will be taken down to the metal and all redone. So I will start a new thread when it starts.
I spent soooo my money get 100% perfect parts. I have all interor and soon all exteror. But as I want the car to look 95% stock (superram, inside motor, exhast) I need a way to find out all the little stuff like is the drip molding on the car and the headlight metal brackes painted car color or what. If I have to I will buy new GM parts one by one as I build the car.
Oh and 400hp gm motor
Thanks guy Another 1000guestions to go.

I'm pretty sure drip molding and headlight brackets were not car color as its a duller finish on the brackets. I believe the drip molding was molded black plastic

I took the drip molding off and it is gloss black metal but that is the color of the car so don't know. I can just look at pics of car as people could have changed it.

Re: HUGE project need help!
Is it a heritage car? that may change some things.
The body colored wheels were an option in 1992.
It really depends on some things, considering that you have a BLACK car just about everything should be black... IIRC Black Z28 cars the headlight buckets were not painted a different black but were left alone like a RS would have been. not sure in 1992 but from what I remember reading the IROC was that way... Camaro guys need to help more than I but...

Okfoz and MDv6man are right about the headlight retainers. They are a low closs, almost satin, black similar to the headlight buckets themselves.Modern Day has them used http://www.moderndaymuscle.com/inc/sdetail/1207
I've seen new/NORS,on Ebay for example, but a lot of times they are the bright finish used on other lines.GM Classic Parts on Ebay is an excellent seller. They have a NORS set item # 160173214368 for $49.95.
The drip molding is similar in color to the rear hatch and windshield molding.

Re: HUGE project need help!
Ok I just said screw in and bought brand new GM door moldings and I will also buy those headlight trim. And I guess I will also buy the metal headlight brack that is on the radiator.
Now as for the color of the emblems. I know that my wheels are silver the car is black with red strips. I just need to know what color the rear (Z28,5.7 tune port injection) and the side Z28. Sorry I have no idea hows this is hope you don't mind.
