Original Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am 1967-2002: The Restorer's Guide
I saw this on Amazon, It’s a new book. Release date is July 15, 2007. I don’t have any more info, just a heads up; I’ll be buying a copy, hope its good. It’s also very timely as I’ll be starting my project next month.

Excellent I was wondering when there would be something like this. This is a must add for this future historic automotive restoration tech major. And I am working on an 84 TA at the moment with more f-bodies and definitly other cars to follow.

I hate to say it, but if earlier book releases and parts catalogs are any indication, thirdgen cars will probably get little if any coverage.
It will most likely concentrate on 1st and 2nd gen cars.

Well, I bought this book. It bits. There is little mention of early thirdgens. I only read the section on the 82 to 92 firebirds and the info was woefully incorrect. Much much worse then the Standard Catalog of Firebird: 1967-2002 and that’s bad.
There are some good pics though. I though about returning it but I’ll keep just to add to my collection.

WE seem awful glum about our cars... I must admit there used to be next to nothing on the 2nd gens about 10 or 15 years ago, but now they are coming on strong. Don't lose heart, there is alot to celebrate about 3rd gens...
Unlike the second gens that came in with a Bang and went out with a fizzle, the 3rd gens came in with a wimper but left with a Bang. I believe they are actually getting more and more press time. I actually saw a recent TV show that had the 92 Firehawk. Its not all that bad but it will catch on...
A recent revelation...
The Formula could be considered to be the GTO of the 80's. In similar vein of the early GTO's from 64 - 70 the Formula was a bare bones light weight car that had the top engine of the day as an option... I have actually read this somewhere but I do not remember where.
