explain: How 92's paint 16" rims on stock 91's?
I've got a number of people claiming they have seen 91's with "heritage" type looking colored 16" rims. I've looked at 1991 brochures and books and there ARE in fact a number of 1991 brochures CLEARLY showing "heritage" colored 16" rims yet that was not available in 1991.
There is even a 1991 Camaro Z28 Convertible in one of my books that clearly show WHITE painted inserts yet White was not even part of the 92' heritage color..
Was there a undocumented number of 1991 Camaro's that got the 1992 HERITAGE Edition rims? or silver rims with WHITE painted insets?
Confused.. Thanks

red cars would get red painted 15/16 rims but optionaly siver
teal cars would get teal 15/16 inch rims but optionaly siver
white could have white painted 15/16 rims optional being silver
only reason i know this is from working at a dealer and being bored and looking up options
silver was standard for all other colors but optional on the colors above
even looking at a 91 dealer service manual it lists these colors

well mine is a 91 and i "had" red rims they had been painted black so when i got this car i put them on my black camaro and now there silver as seen in my sig
trust me ive seen many of these differant color rims alot of times the rims get re painted silver
example 2 is the 2 front silver rims on my car where white from 91 white z28
i painted them silver to match my car mainly because they where cheap

In my 1991 dealer book it shows Red Wheels on a Z28 & it has a pic of the 16" rims in Red on the options page...
I just found where in the Camaro Booklet it states "Z28 is clean, mean. No stripes. No decals. No nonsense. Just brilliant base-coat/clear-coat..." In 1992 the Heritage Edition broke all of those rules.
The books really do not spell out which wheels came with what colors like in 1992.

I wouldn't consider them heritage wheels. Does the 91 brochure call them heritage wheels? I'm pretty sure it was just an option.

It looks like everything after "Pwr front disc/rear drum brakes" describes a base 91 Camaro.
