Car: too many ...
Hey Jenn, I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work. I didn't put in a request (the RPO's are good enough for me), but I may some day. I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the time you are taking to help out the 3rd Gen Community. Thanks!! Oh, and congrats on the baby!!

I got my invoices last week, and I needed to say once again THANKS Bunches...
One thing I found out... Both of my cars were made within DAYS of each other... 6-24-87 & 6-26-87 were the ship dates... BUT the kicker is they were shipped from different factories... Pretty neat... And if you ever wondered Norwood OH had a higher production number than the Van Nuys production number even tho the Norwood car was shipped first...

Just wanted to say thanks as mine came in the mail today. Wasn't exactly as I was expecting because its kind of weird.
Has my real VIN(1G5 instead of 1G2) and the two options available but has the LC2 as a 5.0 TPI deduct. Which is probably how it left the factory before being converted into a TTA.
I knew the anniversary option was 10K and the invoice proved that

Hey Shawn!
Sometimes they would add the person's name to the invoice, but sometimes they wouldn't. Sorry, I know that's not a very scientific answer. I can look it up for you though; just shoot me an e-mail to jennifer.knightstep@gm.com.

Hey Jenn, I sent my request a couple of days ago to the GMMA e-mail address. Is that ok? Are you still going to get it or do I need to send it to your other e-mail address? Thanks again Jenn for all of your hard work. We appreciate it. :hail:

wills83z28cfi: I do still monitor both inboxes, so if you sent a request to either one, I ought to have gotten it. From what addy did you send your request?
Jennifer
PS: I've noticed a LOT of requests recently don't include a mailing address. PLEASE include this with your VIN, make, and model year. Thanks!

I've been sending e-mails to those unlucky few who I don't have, but in case anyone needs it, PHS can be reached at www.phs-online.com.

The things is, PHS was supposed to only get COPIES of what we have, but for some reason, there are a lot we don't have that PHS does. I'm not pointing fingers or anything like that, but I acn't even figure out which ones we DON'T have until I look for them. Weird. Anyway, I'm sorry we don't have the rest of your invoices. You can always get them from PHS; maybe he'll give you a bulk-rate discount

Hi Jon!
Yes, I got your request on 12-15. I sent it to the micro-film lab on 1-14. It's currently taking anywhere from four to six weeks to get it back from microfilm. It took a month to get it to micro-film b/c I can only send 11 requests per day...

Hi qiker!
Yup, that's the replacement key code. We have to black them out for "security" reasons. Wouldn't want someone pretending to be qiker getting their hands on your key codes, and swiping your car.

Hi Jenn.. I'm just seeing and looking at this thread today and hope I haven't missed the boat on being able to obtain original documentation for my car.
I hope I'm not too late to get in on this. I'm composing an email to you now.
This is a Godsend that you're doing this for us 3rd Genners.
Thank you again,
Chris

No no thank you....While your here.....my invoice does not show RPO AS5 for the Recaro seats....Although my SPID and cowl tag do......I wanted extra backup on the seats and was going to (finally) order PHS docs.
If you both have the same info it looks like I would not find what I need there either.
Any comments: Anyone? Is the AS5 included in the B20 ?

Hmm...I wonder if maybe the invoice just doesn't show it? If anyone else with that same option ordered an invoice from me, please check the invoice and see if the option is listed on the invoice.

Retail $995
This is confirmed in Standard Catalog of Firebird 1967-2002 by John Gunnell
The B20 Luxury Trim Group for a 1985 Trans Am includes "luxury front and rear seats, luxury doors, color keyed seatbelts, split folding rear seat, map pockets, carpeted cowl kick panel and adjustable Recaro bucket seats with Pallex cloth trim ($995)".
I appears the B20 could include any seat style with leather, leather / pallex, or pallex

if is is horsepower at 215 on the invoice, either it's not right or the tech article is wrong. The car was ordered in 11/85 and is titled/vin says 1986, in 85 the car was 215hp in 86 it was 190hp, i have the 4500-5000 tach, not the 5000-5500 tach, and i have an auto transmission. I had looked up the block id before and it came up as 1986 305 FI 1-Piece rear main Non-Roller. I'm so confused

I just wanted to say greetings! to all of the ThirdGenners from Sweden! I must admit I am truly surprised at how many requests I have gotten from Sweden. I didn't realize these vehicles were so popular there!
One note: many of the collectors submitting VINs from Sweden have not been including the entire VIN; there appear to be characters missing from the front part of the VIN. Also, pleae note that I am a girl, not a "sir", so you don't have to address your messages "dear sir"
Thanks so much!
And hey, those guys in the U.S., I do need your mailing addresses. I hate to be a brat, but if I see one more message without a mailing address, I'm just goin' to start deleting the ones without all the info I need. Well, I'll THINK about deleting them. I'm such a softie...

Maybe I ought to be more specific. This is what an ideal request will look like:
"Dearest Jenn,
Please send me the invoice for my 198X Camaro/Firebird. My VIN is: (Insert COMPLETE, CORRECT VIN).
My mailing address is:
F-Body Enthusiast
Street Address
City, State ZIP
Thank you, Jenn! You are a wonderful human being and are an asset to General Motors and the world in general!"
Hey, a girl can hope!
Send your e-mail to me at jennifer.knightstep@gm.com. If for some reason, it doesn't go through, then send it to gmma.research@gm.com. I check both e-mail boxes.
Anyway, that's the info I need. I can understand confusing an "8" with a "B" in your VIN, but I can't understand forgetting to include the VIN entirely... also, please don't ask me "when can I expect to get my invoice?" because unfortunately, I really don't know. It's taking about 5 weeks to get them out. Please don't send messages to check the status of your request; I'll shoot you an e-mail as soon as I have your invoice (or as soon as I know where it is, if I don't have it). If a couple of months go by and you don't have your invoice, then feel free to e-mail me to check the status. Otherwise, please don't. It's too daunting.
Also, for those lucky fellas (and ladies) who already have their invoices...yay! I just wanted to note that I have been crossing out the key codes so no-one can make off with your treasured, carefully restored vehicle. I'd feel horrible if that happened. Just wanted to let you guys know why I've been getting rid of that info.
OK, that said, if I get any more messages without ALL of the info I need, I'm going to reply to ask for what I need, but the request is getting bumped to the back of the line. It's only fair to the guys who took the time to include all of their info in their first message. right?
If this message sounds snotty, please don't take it that way. I'm smiling as I'm typing. Sometimes I even giggle.

Jenn-
Confusing an "8" with a "B" now who would do that? Ummmm it wasn't me..... I kinda feel like an idiot now. I was trying to write it down real quick cause it was cold in the garage and the lighting was so good.... Let's see there's a few more excuses... I didn't have my glasses, it was 2:00 am. The dog was bothering me.... HAHAHAH just kidding.
Jenn you are the greatest EVER. You should be promoted to VP of GM at once! With a huge chocolate pension plan.
Again, thanks for the reply email, and I really don't care how long it takes. We all appreciate having someone on the "inside" hooking us up with the info..
