As it has been my habit, I want to make sure my drawing is accurate to the smallest detail, so once again I am posting here to have you history buffs tell me what to change, etc.

ignore the vertical lines, they will go when I do the final.

That is very smooth - could you do one of a really nice looking 89 Formula? I am just having a heckuva time finding one that looks good.

The ground effects I will see what I can do...

As for the vents, they are there, but from the angle they are really light. Look closely and you shall see the change in color

HERE is the strangest thing, I took that pic from a Sales brochure... the Gfx are different, or is it an illusion on my pic.

Looks more like a photo graphic then a drawing to me. How was it done?
I agree with 1989 Formulas. I want to use my new printer and transfer paper to make some custom Ts to wear.
I LOVE huge hood bulges, and even better, blowers through the hood! Pro-Street style!!
(big slicks work great as well)

I think it looks VERY good! Having owned 91 Firebird and staring at it all the time, I think you did a very good representation of it.

The ground fx has a ridge on it like the ones Freeze pictured. The photo you have actually has the ridge but do to the lighting and the crease in the magazine you can't see it very well.

Make that puppy a standard coupe and you have my old car! Great to see another fine thirdgen captured. Still can't wait to see the 82-84's. I would buy a shirt then.

Here is one I made a long time ago. Not near the detail as yours.

Could you get me a shot under the front like Freeze did, I am just wondering if the Base firebird was not painted, but the GTA & T/A were painted in the center...

I am planning on using this car for the standard coupe, make the wheels 15", eliminate the 4 hood louvers and change the spoiler to the wing and Whala! you have a base firebird.

I know the 15" Gold rims were avaialble on the 91-92 Base firebird, was it an option on certain base models, like the Convert only or was it availble on all base models?

The gold wheels were available on all base models. Ive seen quite a few coupes with them as well as verts.

Mine had the 20 slot rims.

I think you are referring to the molded spoke on chrome rim, painted? Mine are gray and I always have referred to them as GTA rims....is that fair to say?

I will probably use the 20 slot rims on the base firebird WITHOUT the ground effect package, I will use the Formula as a template.

Even though there has to be something identical on the web, if you want, I can take a close up of my own wheel. I don't think I have yet. I do like the 90s ground effects, but the late 80s Birds look good too

The problem happens when I try to put the wheel on the car, if I just try to smash them into place then the wheel looks strange, like a photoshop, it gets to be too flat. So what I actually would need is several pictures of the same wheel at different angles to try and find one that has the same angle as the wheels on the car. it has to be exact, I get really picky when it comes to this.

Honestly I did that exact thing with the 80's Camaro Z28 Wheels, I have a set and I took 10 pix of them at differnt angles to get enough detail when I drew them.

The Wheels on this car really are not exactly perfect, I cannot tell anymore once I seperated the pic from my drawing as much, but if you look at them closely there not exactly like the picture. I actually cheated and took them from the first 87-90 GTA that I drew and reversed them and stretched them ever so slightly to fill the holes, and I got REALLY lucky that the 87-90 GTA that I used was almost the same exact angle as this pic, but backwards.

I just went through my saved pics and found two T/A's where half the air dam was painted as on SLP_GTA's car. I hadn't noticed that before. Not sure though if it's just a Trans Am thing. I know that my car's front bumper cover and probably also the air dam were replaced after a minor accident so they could have just forgotten to paint the air dam.

I couldn't find any good pics of 91/92 base models with ground effects to see if they came with a painted air dam. Actually on the only other car I have good pics of the piece was missing.

Sorry, random Camaro owner just looking, but I think I may be able to help, OKFOZ, ask cg91ta...he has a 91 WS6 (red) and he very well may be able to help you. He doesn't have the spoke rims, he has custom ones, but the paint job on his car is still original. He may be able to help with the air dam question. I'll look for him too, but maybe you can get ahold of him easier cuz your both mods...I dunno, hope that helps!

Ok, just did a little investigating, and I have discovered 2 things... 1) 1/2 the pictures he took were with his STOCK rims, which were the GRAY spoke rims, 2) your gonna have to get ahold of him becuase on his web site he doesn't have a pic good enough for me to determine how his air dam looks.

You guys are referring to the bendable black [plastic?] portion along the bottom and the edge of the outer flare from side to side along the middle (above it)?
I don't recall details on that either, but with regard to the gray spoke rims... I will grab a good shot of mine, They do seem a bit rare. I think the gold ones are most common (with a smaller center cap (mine kept coming off, not fun!!) and there are black spoke rims as well. Hell, I'll call 'em all GTA rims
hehe

HERE is the updated picture, I changed the lower part of the air-dam, Added the Emblem on the "B" Pillar, and I darkened the hood vent over the fender.

How is it now?

Axle/Gears: Sag 3.73, B&W 3.45
George,
I already have the 87-90 GTA, here ya go I am seriously thinking about doing a TTA, the only issue I have is how would it work on a white shirt, I might have to make a gray background of some sort to get it to work... Still its a gamble...

Perfect. But I think the air dam only has the little vents on the drivers side. Let me see...

/edit: Just checked. Mine only has the vents on the driver's side.

Looks awsome! Hey, I really like your attention to every detail. I wouldn't have thought of getting the detail done right on an air dam but hey. It makes it that much better of a picture.

Great work man. If the 82-84's look anything like these I'll go crazy.

Or print onto a gray or light colored shirt. The pre 90s Forms (LATE 80s ones) get little rep on shirts, so that's also a valid idea.
I think you forgot to flare the front aero effects on the sides.
The saturation of red could be brought down to bring out the details. My photo editor allows sat. level adjustment and it works wonders

The last one looks great. Only minor modifications make it a Trans Am!

I responded in the other thread about the air dams. If you need any other pictures I'll be home in a week to get them for you. PM me.

I guess how he did it is a trade secret. I asked that up front. hehe
I took some REAL good shots of my rims. I think they are 16" I'm no expert. I have to compress them to display here so they won't look as nice, but I think maybe a dedicated thread to rim types is in order, for FYI newbies
hehe

A real easy way to check to see what size rim you have is look at the profile "written" on the side of your tire. P245/50/R16 or something like that. The very last number is the rim radius. in this case, 16 inches.

From the looks of the picture you posted above, you have the 16 inch Trans Am/GTA (I thought all GTA wheels were gold?) wheel.

Your Correct, the GOLD wheels were standard, and I also believe the ONLY color you could get on the GTA. The 91-92 T/A had an available Gold wheel, But the Black ones were standard. The FORMULA on the other hand had the standard Aluminum wheel and had the Black Lace wheel as an option... The Firebird was ONLY availbel with the 15" rims, they had a aluminum wheel similar to the Formula wheels WITHOUT the extra inch and the fake screws. AND the firebird had a gold wheel similar to the GTA

trust me I am on top of it.

THAT will be next, I want to finish up the 91-92 T/A, and base firebird with Ground FX, it should be pretty quick then I will start on a 91-92 Camaro, The Z28 should work for the RS as well with 16" rims, so I will kill 2 birds with one stone.
