Looking for the beginnings of an SCCA race car
Looking for a shell/roller/complete car as the basis for a road race car. It will run in SCCA ITR, and will be powered by a mostly stock 305 HO motor (class rules).
Requirements:
Cannot have t-tops!
Can be any year 82-92
Can be Firebird or Camaro
Cannot have terminal rust
Chassis must be straight
Preferences:
An 85 305HO 5sp car would be ideal
Prefer 85-90 firebird or TA, 82-84 Camaro is a close 2nd
I will need a V8 t5, so a V8 stick car is a plus
Good body and usable paint is nice, but not a deal breaker
V6 stick is ok, but the trans has no value
Title is not needed, but if it has one that's fine
Interior is irrelevant overall, but I need the stock dash
I can't use a 9 bolt rear, late rear discs (early ones are ok) or 1LE brakes, but if they're on it it's ok
I don't have much to spend, but I'm not looking for a gem either. I an probably throw about $1500 at a V8 5speed car in ok condition, whereas I'd only drop $300-400 on a v6 auto that runs and drives, since I'd have to spend another $1000 on a trans and stuff to swap it.
I'm in SE PA, (Boyertown PA 19512), so the closer the better, but I have a trailer and may go up to 200 miles for the right car.
No big rush, bu I figured I'd see what was out here.

Mine's closer.... but both are still above your stated budget. I am willing to deal and keep some of the "extras" to lower the price some.....

Wow, a bidding war...
;<{)
Well, in that case, I can keep the PAS 305" for a vintage 'Vette project, which was my original plan anyway, and offer just the roller w/ all the Pro Race tweaks, legal cage, Pro T-5, flywheel, clutch, bellhousing, and driveshaft...
Orrrrrrr, just the roller w/o any driveline...
Bet's to You, Columbus!

Well....
I will leave it up to the OP to decide what they want/don't want and arrive at a number.

My car doesn't fall in your year but its cheap and relatively close to you. I also have a 305 short block that was rebuilt and has low miles that I can throw in for another $200. Here is the link:
