1992 Trans Am convertible - Red/Tan
***I am posting this on behalf of a friend. I took these pictures, inspected the vehicle, and took the pictures***
1992 Pontiac Trans Am (WS4) convertible, LB9, 4L60, 2.73 rear end. Bright Red with 1 year (1992) only Beige interior.
1,643 Trans Ams were built in 1992 with only 663 being convertibles. Convertibles were ordered by the dealership and then drop shipped to ASC and then shipped the dealer.
This is a very rare 06/92 build Trans Am with an invoice date of 06/10/92. As such it has a few special things worth pointing out. As the Van Nuys plant ran out of MY 1992 parts, some parts were borrowed from the old Corvette L98 parts bin and the upcoming LT1 engine. Those items on this car are the blank LT1 TB plate, Corvette “textured” TPI intake runners, and black LT1 valve covers. 3rd gen Firebird production ceased ~08/27/92.
Currently has 202,176 miles. Registration expires March 9th, 2023 and it recently pass CA smog on Feb. 8th, 2022. Optioned with factory UA1 CD player but currently has an aftermarket stereo. YF5 California car, originally delivered to Thousand Oaks CA. Came to Bakersfield CA in 2005. Current owner since Oct. 2014 and purchased with 199,300 miles.
Documentation includes a binder with original window sticker, build sheet, invoice, owners manual, warranty booklet, wheel lock code card, plus much more. The SPID label is still in the center console but has significant fading and can barely be read.
Other items to note are a transmission service in late 2014 and a tune-up done in Sept 2014, new tires in June 2015, new AC compressor in Aug 2021, new alternator in July 2018, new passenger door window regulator, and there is a spare windshield/A-pillar weather seal for the convertible top. The muffler has been replaced at some point and the condition of the brakes is exceptional, the rotors look brand new. It also has a brand new set of fuel injectors installed.
The vehicle has only done 2,876 miles since 2014. It’s used regularly but only to events like car shows with the local Pontiac club or short local cruises as the mileage reflects. In 2017 the current owner had the entire car repainted and it was documented with many photos that are in the included binder of documentation. Spare paint is included. The correct decals were reapplied and even the GM trim black on the nose around the fog/indicator lights was painted correctly. The paint shows like brand new with no rock chips on the front and the original windshield shows no pitting. The black convertible top is in AS-NEW condition not showing a single imperfection except for the inside headliner starting to sag at the front.
There is not a single thing on the car not functioning properly, even all of the bulbs in the 3rd brake light are functional. This has always been garage kept and it shows when looking at the original interior and convertible top. I would note that the leather needs a serious Leatherique treatment or similar. I would say the car shows as if it has 50K miles or less inside and out.
Asking price is $14,500 OBO. Please email vak5605@gmail.com if interested. The vehicle is located in Bakersfield, CA.

Re: 1992 Trans Am convertible - Red/Tan
Much appreciated, thank you. Over the past couple of decades, I've done several pre-purchase inspections for members here on cars local to me and I used to have quite a reputation for being a stickler on the details. So when I made this post for the guy who's in our car club (Les), I wanted it to be from that point of view since most likely it would be bought sight unseen.
1 new comment: In speaking with another forum member a few hours ago who has the same car in the same year and color combination, we suspect given the mileage and the shade of the leather interior that it MAY have been swapped in from perhaps another year car. I know it is OE leather, but the wear does seem too good to be true for the mileage and they thought the shade was off. - That said, it is just speculation at this point and we aren't 100% that's the case. So buyer beware this may not be the exact original interior this car had when it left the factory.
Also, I pointed out to the owner that the hose on the side of the TB missing its clamp and was loose.... and yes the power antenna works just like new, I had just had him put it up so I could see when taking the pictures so it is not stuck up or anything.

I don't know the owner nor have I seen this car, but for anyone that is interested in the car that Alex (92GTA) is a stand up guy. So if he says this car is in excellent condition, then it is.
