For Sale: 87 TransAm GTA Firehawk Series Car $7,500.00
For Sale: ’87 TransAm GTA Firehawk Series Car $6,500.00 Price Reduced!!!
As promised, I am now offering up my 1987 IMSA Firehawk Car, “Judy” which is an LB9/MM5 (MK6) combination (delete option on the GTA). She is minus the passenger and rear seats, interior door trim, but includes the full factory dash, console, GTA steering wheel, Recaro driver’s seat, Simpson 6pt belts, and full roll cage (passes muster with IMSA, SCCA, NASA, all others). She has been in limited street use some years back, but has no driver’s window, no spare tire or jack, no unleaded fuel nozzle collar, and no headlights or inner bumpers. She has a welded and canted diff, full exhaust, and a strong PAS 5-liter. She also has proper J65 brakes, Ronal R9 wheels, and VSE front bar. The radio and speakers have been removed, but the N33 tilt and DG7 mirrors are fully functional. The RPO tag is still in the console.
This was one of 5 Martin Racing TransAms, and was built for and raced by the Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Mahre Brothers (Men’s Slalom, Sarajevo, 1984). The Brothers were an outstanding pair, both on and off the tracks they raced. They were able to transfer their considerable skills to Auto Racing, enough to have finished a high of 4th in their rookie season.
All Martin Cars were originally factory 40 White, with rear quarters painted 23 Blue with a Yellow Tint slash; the Mahre car had quarters painted 81 Red with the Yellow slash. “Judy” now has the 40 base, with 41 Black quarters and an 81 Red slash as she was used to promote the D.A.R.E.ฎ Program back in the 90’s.
At some point, this car may be worthy of being a museum piece; but right now, she’s just a great Gen 3 in need of a good home. She is being offered at price that reflects what you would expect for a car you can Race on Sunday, and Drive to Work on Monday.
Add a set of Firehawk Series decals and go to Car Shows in between Vintage Races, take it out for Track Days at your local Road Circuit, drive it to work and impress your friends, or just employ as the Safest Commute Car ever; your choice…
I would be happy to provide additional information, photos, and will entertain interesting partial trades and any bona fide offers.
Thanks!
I wanna sell this car before I have to go back to racing it!
