Minitubs and stock springs, for now... Is it possible/safe?
I would like to install minitubs for eventual larger wheels. I would also like to install air-ride at a later date. For this reason I don't want to buy coil overs or anything like that. Since my plans need to be spaced out ($$$), would it be OK to drive the car with standard springs, and be minitubed? Then later buy the air ride, and finally the larger wheels.
Thanks for any advice as always.

The average mini tub cuts part of the top spring locator hump off as well as the outside of the spring pocket. As long as the spring is held properly in place you should be fine

Makes sense. Thanks. I will pick up the Wolfe kit this week and see how easy the install goes. I would like to keep the rear shoulder seat belts. Has anyone done that? I think all the installs I have seen get rid of it, or never had them.

U dont see why you couldn't keep them but honestly the mini tub usually eliminates the rear seat all together.

I will def be keeping my back seats. I don't get the whole rear seat removal bit. I actually like the fact I can bring my wife AND a friend to a car show in my car.
Anyways, I will buy the tubs this weekend and document the install the following weeks.
Thanks.

Problem is you can't install the back seat with the tubs, it doesnt fit and the seat belt mounts get cut out

I have seen plenty of mini tubs with back seats. As for the seat belts, I am hoping to re-attach then on the tubs, or some sort of idea like that to keep that back area functional.

Yeah. I will try that. My interior is already pretty out there so I think my rear plastics will be getting done over as well. Of course less custom work, means I get to get back on the road sooner.
I have a fuel cell in my trunk that will be covered by a close out panel that needs to tie into the plastics by the seats. Very hard to explain. Right now I am neck deep in engine bay smoothing. Once I am done with a primer coat on that part of the project, I will start a new thread that will roll into the minitub install. All the old minitub installs on here have all their pics broken. Time to fix that with a fresh, clear install walkthrough.

Fitting rear seats and plastics with the Wolfe mini tub kit will be a big challenge. Not saying it can't be done, but you won't be able to cut into the body as deep. I made my own tubs that allowed me to keep the seats, uncut plastics and seat belts. It was alot of work but worth it.

Can you explain in further detail? I have read these remarks several times but without elaboration sound vague. And if you have time, ramble. I mean really get into detail. I would love to know if I shouldn't buy the tubs, they are not ordered yet.
