Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
Yes, there are plenty of quad bi-xenon retrofits but they are expensive and very hard to aim. Lol
The 24x conversion is awesome. My 406 with XE268H cam idles at 625 in P/N and 575 in gear. Dead smooth. No hiccups stumbles or stutters. I love it. And being able to change spark, fueling, and shift points at will is amazing. I have my car running OLSD at the moment because the O2 sensors are useless with the overlap of this cam and I haven't recalibrated the MAF yet. I think it beats the hell out of what I read about TPI and TBI ecu's and such.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
Okay that will be a ton of light so 50w ballasts. Make sure you use 35w ballasts. You will have a true 70w output with quad projectors.
And that's what I've got is the monoblade 78mm throttle body. Most don't like DBW for some odd reason but I love it lol makes cruise control so easy and seamless.

Mine didn't either. As long as your stalk has +12v going to it and the cruise switches work, then cruise will work with dbw.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
Well I think that is the problem is my switch, bc the intermediate wiper doesn't work, low/high setting works, high beams work, cruise control don't work. I have a new wiper motor and pulse module on it and all correctly installed and plugged in right

How clean are the connections under the hood for the wiper motor and all? Mine don't have very good connections and need new pigtails completely. They work fine unless the car has sat out in the rain for a while then the wipers go crazy. Lol

Actually I was very happy with silverstar sealed beams but the glare to other drivers was horrible so I didn't keep them.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
Maybe it was just the aiming of yours? I live way out in the country on DARK roads (no red lights, not street lights, not even front yard lights) and I have yet to EVER be brighted with my Silverstars in the last 3 years since I started running them, so mine haven't bothered anybody bad enough to tell me, not even the cops.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
I aimed them like they are supposed to be aimed and the glare was horrible. Then I aimed them very low and it was still as bad. It's just too much light for a reflector based headlight. Also the silverstart sealed beams are the only ones that offer any improvement in light. 9005 bulbs and such are crap. So if you didn't have sealed beams all you had was whiter light. And no one ever flashed me like that but a friend told me they were too bright behind him so I got my dad to drive down the road and back and I saw how bad it was over stock. It didn't look like brights but it looked like a lifted pickup.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
BlackenedBird is correct. You'd probably be very happy with the silverstars. The one and only reason I didn't keep them was because of the glare. And the H4 conversions ARE junk.
Here is the front shot you wanted:
The lenses are visible in certain light such as this. I think it looks kinda cool tho.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
Oh and output shots are on the way. I have the driver's seat and part of the console removed at the moment chasing down some wiring issues with the BCM I put in from the Tahoe. My driver's seat belt buckle doesn't have the plug in for the seat belt warning mess and I'm trying to wire that up to work with the BCM chime and the light in the dash. The door sill retractor has a plug in on it but I don't know what that's for.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
I honestly don't know. I have no clue what it could be, the only connector that i know for sure what is, is on the buckle which lets you know when you do or don't have your seatbelt on. My best guess would be sensor to lock up the retractor if you slam on brakes or get in a crash.

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
That's what I was thinking as well. I'd assume that it is a +12v connection for a solenoid that is self grounded by the mounting bolt. I put +12v on it momentarily, but nothing happened. My car has no part of the harness going to it. This seat belt set is from an '85 Trans Am, whereas mine is an '82. The odd thing is I had the dash in from the '85 and it has the light in the dash for "Fasten Seat Belts" just as the '82 dash. Yet, there is no part of the harness under the carpet for this.

Was there a wire going to the bolt? Being honest unless your state has inspesctions, I wouldn't worry about it. Its a 20 somethin y.o car, nothing is going to work or be like they used to be. How long does the fasten your seatbelts stay on? mine only stays for a few seconds even of the belt is plugged in. I have an 88 T/A

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
There's no wire to the bolt. I was only curious what it is for.
The fasten seat belts reminder has never worked. In the quest to make this car feel as modern as possible inside, I have the body control module from a 2000 Tahoe all wired up. The seat belt reminder is part of it and I would like for it to function. Little subtle things like that help the car not seem 30 years old. Lol. The auto dimming mirror is also one of these things. The retained accessory power (part of BCM) helps as well (radio stays on for 15 minutes after you kill the car, fyi). I love having these little modern touches in the car if you can't tell. Lol

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
How to wire up the bcm? It's really easy. Just need the pinouts and match everything up that you want to use. The bcm needs power ground and ign. It doesn't have to 'talk' to the computer to still work. I even wired up the remote keyless entry from the same vehicle. Even tho I don't have power locks.. lol

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
I have the BCM under the dash to the left of the steering column. I had to add 4 relays total: retained accessory power (RAP), parking lamp relay, headlamp relay (these two are for auto headlamps), and courtesy lamp relay. I need to add one that cuts power from the headlamps when it's being cranked so the HID's don't flicker. Oh yea, and I need to add the one for the seat belt telltale lol. The seat belt switch is a switched ground. The lamp in the dash is switched voltage. Hence, the relay. I can't use the BCM to control the lamp because it's only output for warning lights is thru the Class II Serial Data wire. Our gauge clusters don't have this. But, I can use that when I do my dash swap!

Re: Pop-up deletes that look good
Yesterday I made a circuit with two relays. One to keep the headlamps off while cranking and the other for the seat belt telltale. I wired it into the car today and it works just as expected.
This is the BCM tucked away behind a bunch of it's wiring. Haha
The auto headlamps don't come on until the car has started now and the seat belt reminder telltale works.
