never heard of a blow sheild. you do need a tube connected to the blow off on the valve that vents outside of the car if the bottle is mounted in the passenger compartment.

Nos can be mounted in the car next to the driver without any type of firewall or shield. They are right about the blow down tube. Due you mean a burst panel? Not needed for track.

Some of it will depend on what bottle you have. Which kit did you buy, and what bottle does it have?
You need something like this....

then you need a blow-down tube. The tube attaches to that fitting, and the tube must vent to the outside of the vehicle.

You can use can bolt the bottle mounts down that is fine, you just have to make sure they are "secure". When I tech my car, they usualy just pull/push on it a bit, and make sure it won't go anywhere.
Here is how I have mine mounted, I drilled a hole in the pastic behind the seatbelt, and then the blowdown tube exits the car through the spare tire well. I had to do a little bit of bending on the tube to make it fit like I wanted, and I cut about 5" off the tube so it didn't hang down that far.
Hope that helps.
