2460 headers on 83 z28 5 speed
Yes, another header question. Maybe I'm not using the right search werds but can't find an answer if these headers will fit an 83 with the stock t5 and clutch/bar configuration. I'm getting a decent deal (used of course) on the headers, y pipe, and hooker catback. Thought it would be a nice upgrade for 450 bucks if all I gotta do it mod the y pipe for 3 inch and hook it all up.

I had both dons headers and edelbrock TES headers on my 82 and the clutch linkage had plenty of clearance. I would imagine you should have room. The 84-92 car still have the slave cylinder in that area so the headers should fit in that area w no problem. The part of the linkage w the adjusting rod was the closest to the headers and that still had lots of clearance. I know this isn't the definitive answer you were looking for but hopefully it helps. There's not a lot of mechanical linkages around anymore. I thought I was the last person on earth to swap to hydraulics!

Yeah, I totally hear that. There's nothing wrong w the mech linkage. Use it till you have a reason to swap. I put in a t56 so it was time. I'd try the headers/exhaust. I bet it fits w none to minimal issues.

I'm gonna take a chance on it. The catback is beat up but I figure 450 for all of it isn't too out of line. Speaking of the mechanical linkage, ive been trying to find a new spring just to keep in the car in case the original ever breaks. I cant even find one let alone a part number.

You probably could get one from a 70s car. Or just use a generic spring and bend it as needed.
