Dyno Dons headers

Fed up with these DNA longtubes. Cannot get them in for anything. I have had to take off about everything on the passenger side for clearance and still no dice. I've jacked up the car (higher than my jacks i was so pizzd) to try to go under and they still get caught up no matter what angle i try. I was almost finished with this swap engine wise and it looks like the only way these could possibly work is if i pull the engine up again. Not doing it.
So, that brings me to the question, will Don's headers fit in without jacking, unbolting, or basically anything to do with moving the engine? These longtubes supposedly fit without doing that, but not on mine.
It's an 86 iroc, has ac (1/2 disassembled now), 700r4, prothane engine mounts, small block. Plugs are out, fan switch out, starter out, everything i could get out of the way. Just wondering if I get some DD's header will they drop right in because I'm so over this. Plus I want something that I could take off if I had to without all the trouble too. I know header installs are tough, but I'm just looking for some imput if DD's would be a simple install with what I have, thanks and sorry for the long post.

Re: Dyno Dons headers

Wow, I didnt think that would be a problem with those. It wasnt with the long tubes. They are tucked inward enough that the collector cant get past the ears of the bell housing, and so spread out from the ports that they hit the frame and piece sticking out from the a arms. I think even if i slid them in with the motor yanked back up i would still have issues with these. Something must not be right because so many said they were a pretty decent fit. I ordered some of Don's (it said it was still taken orders through TDS), fingers crossed-it took the order. To bad on the LT's, they were cheap and really decent looking. I hope they still breathe comparably. Thanks for the headsup!

Re: Dyno Dons headers

I got the Dyno Don's in today. In stock and FAST if anyone is still wanting them. These slid right in, no moving or adjusting anything. Literally took about 15 minutes, 5 plugs out, slide in, bolt on, reinstall the plugs. Done. Perfect fit-with everything.

PO had a Borla cat back on this with no cat, just a straight pipe welded in place. I'm thinking of going with something different but have decided on anything yet.

Is this on the stock manifolds? I just put a 383 in so I didn't even take them off of the 305. I just broke them free at the y-pipe. Lots of soaking with PB Blaster, heat, cussing, and patience is my advice if its stuck, if its just a PITA to get to, there is is probably some threads dealing with it with some good solutions if you check em out with the search function-sorry I had no experience with that.
