Magnaflow or Flowmaster?

Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
Hey guys,
short question: What would you recommend? Flowmaster 80 muffler or Magnaflow 12265 Cross Flow muffler? What sounds better in your opinion?
Installed on my 92 is the Flowtech Afterburner but I don't like the sound very much. My 92 is a bone stock 305 TPI with stock Y-Pipe and cat, Dynomax 2,5" intermediate pipe and and Dynomax 2,5" end tubes. I just want to change the muffler itself, the rest of the system especially manifolds and cat have to be stock (strict visual inspection and cops over here in germany). Whats your opinion? Maybe some people here can post videos or soundfiles?
Thanks.

Re: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
Huh. No one has ever asked this before. NOT.
I had a Flowmaster 80 on my stock 305 TPI. It sounded pretty awesome. But recently it was getting on my nerves so I switched to a Walker 18375 SoundFX Muffler which sounds more stock but still nice.
I will say this, I got a tune and the car sounds way cooler on the tune. I am curious about the Magnaflow. I have heard users really like them.
I am doing a 5.7L, cam, tune, and T-5 conversion with an aftermarket Y-Pipe and will see what the Walker sounds like after that. I may not be able to resist changing it out.

Re: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
I have usually used magnaflow on my 3rd and 4th gen cars. I have been happy with performance and sound. I prefer the low key sound until WOT. FWIW

I trashed my Flowmaster in favor of a Magnaflow, never looked back.
Flowmaster definitely earned the nickname Dronemaster. Lots of drone, not worth it for me.

Just replaced my stock system with the Magnaflow (16829). Very happy with the quality and sound.

Loved flowmaster as a young guy, at 40 not so much anymore. The drone just gets on my nerves.

Re: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
rule of thumb, low compression/small displacement - magnaflow. high compression/large displacement - flowmaster. PERIOD.

Re: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
Magnaflow may outflow it but man my Flowmaster sounds good and ive run almost every muffler type they make for these cars Borla being my fave, flowmaster 2nd. Lookup " dmccain " on youtube and see for yourself how good a 3in Flowmaster system sounds on a stock Thirdgen

Went with magnaflow cat and cat back exhaust on my L98 and love the sound. Sedate at idle or low cruise but sounds great when you step on it.

you wouldn't be breaking MY rule by not putting a super 40 on a 355ci sb, what it sounds like is up to you

Re: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
exactly put n what sounds good..mufflers are the last place Id look for power. Unless youre making a ton you wont feel a difference
OP if they are that strict look into walker or dynomax super turbo they are pretty quiet

Re: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
427seven and GASPEDDLAR those cars sound amazing!
Here’s a bone stock 305 TPI with Magnaflow...
Its quiet at idle and has some bark when you rev it up... The Flowmasters are louder... Depends what you’re looking for...
