TPI Manifolds.
Would the 305 TPI manifolds for an 87-88 car be the same as the 350 TPI manifolds? I know the TBI manifolds/ y-pipe aren't the same.

What size pipe plugs replace the AIR Tubes I'm removing? Ive done it before and used to know but I just don't remember.

Re: TPI Manifolds.
An inverted flare plug will seal on the flange the old AIR pipes sealed on. A pipe plug will try to seal the threads, and has 'worked' for some people. I've used both at one point or another, and the flare fittings fit a lot better, and seal better.
A true pimp just cuts the AIR pipe flush against the existing nut with a hacksaw, and then welds the damn thing closed. Flawless Victory!

I used the brass plugs a few times with some RTV never had issues. Stripped a bolt out to my smog pump though it may put a halt to my plans for now. Not a lil stripped either, totally stripped.

Post #59 has a air pump for sale. What do you need a air pump if your deleting the air tubes ?

Re: TPI Manifolds.
Its coming out.. eventually. Stripped one the bolts trying to take off the air pump so I just tightened the other back down for now to let my knuckle heal and cease the cursing. Lol. I have a delete pulley to go back in place of the air pump when I do remove it. Also plan to switch to TPI manifolds and Magnaflow y-pipe if everything works out and I have time.

Re: TPI Manifolds.
If I remember correctly there is a spacer between the y-pipe and exhaust manifold on the TPI exhaust. If I order a magnaflow y-pipe will I need this spacer? Is this spacer something a muffler shop would keep in stock for maybe other applications or do I need to track one down?

Re: TPI Manifolds.
You'll need to track one down. It's not a typical exhaust donut, it's basically the EFE flapper housing without the flapper. The right one has "HO" cast into it, a couple ears to locate it between the studs, etc. You probably have the same kind of thing with the low output manifolds. Might be able to just bore it out a bit to make it match the manifold.
