Headers and A/C
Ive ran headers on several of my 3rd gens before but they all had the a/c removed and the fitment was not a problem. Does the a/c cause fitment issues or is it a non-issue because I certainly want to keep my a/c in this down south heat. It does look awful tight on the passenger side with the a/c box there. What brand headers have some of you guys used that fit really well with your a/c in place? Im looking hard at the Hooker Shortys and matching Y-Pipe id just like some of you guys opinions on this before I pull that trigger. Thanks

Re: Headers and A/C
I'm about to do this very project in a few weeks on my '86 IROC, if your car is like my older IROC (compressor on the driver's side/non serpentine), the only fitment issue is on the driver's side, where you will need to remove and trim one of the A/C Brackets. The one that requires trimming is the small one, behind and below the compressor, that bolts directly to the #1 exhaust port bolts. Here is a pic of how it needs trimmed................
