headers headers headers !

In your opinion what is the best style headers and why ...

In detail discuss the pro's and cons of each header (for our cars)

Shorties, longtubes, tri y , stepped primaries , tuned length , etc

I specifically would like to make a custom set of stepped tuned length primary longtubes for my bird and would like to know what y'all think of this

91' bird 305 TBI T-5, trick flow 175 cc heads, 4.10 gears, lots of suspension upgrades......... 24mpg @ 2300rpm hwy 65mph ........ 8.63@ 85mph 1/8th on street tires... 8.000's soon

If your a boy and want to be slow forever get shorties.

If your a man and want to be fast get long tubes and join us higher ranks in the winners circle.

Re: headers headers headers !

Shorties work just fine, Just get a quality set with a good Y pipe and a good exhaust system. I use Heddman's elite headers and there Y pipe which has been modified from a 2 1/2 to a 3 inch mandrel bent outlet. Just not worth the trouble for the little gain you get from LT's, shorties and a good flowing mandrel bent exhaust system will be a lot better then long tubes with exhaust with all the crimped angles that ussaully go with trying to get it to fit. Thats my opinion.

I already have shorties 1.5" primaries on my built 305 with a horrid exhaust system all crush bent crap all way back to a flowcrapper crossflow and still trap 85mph in 1/8 I want to trap at 90

I shift at 6k and this system is killing it IMO

I think some 1.75" long tubes would really wake it up

Re: headers headers headers !

You wanted opioins and I gave you mine, you really need 1 5/8's headers anyway. Do long tubes if that's really what you want....
