Re: help air pump delete

I see claus and I think of the Fish from American Dad. Anyway, delete that bi...big piece of weight. I bought my delete pulley from Hawks years ago, when it was about $45. Almost double now, but here you go. Hawks Smog Delete Pulley
TPIParts has it for $84.

$69.25

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131034924958...l2649#shpCntId

While some ebayers won't ship overseas, this one lists Denmark as a location they will ship to.

This one you linked to says A/C delete. I think the OP is after the air pump version. I'm assuming they are not interchangeable?

Correct, but the part number is for the Smog Delete Pulley. Plus the picture shows the 2bolt design of the smog delete pulley as well. It's just a typo. It's why I always search Part#'s.

Re: help air pump delete

just take the air pump off and use a different belt, no need for a delete pulley

Re: help air pump delete

Y does everyone buy a pulley you can remove it and install a smaller belt if its serpentine. I've been running this setup for years its cheaper and lighter weight!

I'll have to check my recites I just bought on I think the replacement was a 70. Most auto parts stores will let you buy multiple and bring back what you don't need.

Re: help air pump delete

you will need a 96.8", 6 rib belt and look up the re-routing on this site.

Re: help air pump delete

I would bypass it with the shorter belt as suggested I've been running this setup for years with zero problems

Re: help air pump delete

I bought a 96.8 in belt just like I did on my last TPI engine and removed smog pump and the belt was too dang long for the TBI engine.. I put it back on and will probably get the smog delete pulley from Amazon or get a string around it and measure like I should have first.

You sure you got the right belt and have it routed right? Works fine on my 91 TBI.

Re: help air pump delete

Im going to measure the belt myself it was listed 96.5 or 96.8 in if I can remember but you know things get mixed up in packaging sometimes. As far as the route yea I had a diagram and checked it over good. I was in a hurry and didn't physically measure the belt but im sure they will make good on it and trade me another if it wasn't what I ordered.

Re: help air pump delete

Serpentine setup is the same for tpi and tbi. I bought the 968k6 and used the alternate routing. Worked great.

Re: help air pump delete

I just went ahead and ordered the $48 smog delete pulley from Amazon. It does look a little cleaner with it instead of the hole it leaves when you take out the smog pump all together imo.
