Re: Header to spark plug boot clearance
I have about an inch clearance with mine, but they're angle plug heads, never had issues with them. I don't know about half an inch though. Do you have the ability to manipulate them any? ziptie them a certain way or something to get you more clearance?

Mine aren't too close, but I bought these for added comfort. Plus they look killer with the MSD wires and Jet-Hot coating of the headers.
DEI Protect-A-Boots
*Note* I had to remove the metal ring inside the boot covers to get them over the thick boot of the plug wires as I have them snug on the 90* boot about 1/2" from the head. They won't come away from their positions unless you pull on them nicely. Safe and secure from the heat.

Some wires with ceramic ends might help as well.

In applications where you need them, they are very effective.

Fortunately, I still have the box. Only number on it is 0576S-4. Easy enough to find at A/Z or advance, right behind the counter in their "performance" section.

Re: Header to spark plug boot clearance
i have new aluminum heads with angled plugs, went through my local napa store, first they gave me a set of wires for an older style distributor cap, and the second (which i was on the phone with MSD saying its a direct fit for my 87 t/a) were all straight boots, although 8.5mm wires, i had to bend each boot with a pair of channel locks and some of the boots are still barely touching the headers. should be an interesting smelling first startup lol. if these boots go, i'll have to find another set of wires i guess lol, but for now i'm not gonna let my $80 bucks go to waste lol
