Exhaust shop
Took my Camaro down to the local auto shop about a mile down the road.
They quoted me $650 for dual 2.5" exhaust from headers to the rear, no cats with a dual in dual out muffler. All mandrel bends with ball&flange connections so I can remove the exhaust if I ever need to service the transmission or gas tank.
What do you think about this price?

Re: Exhaust shop
I'm more interested in if this is a good price for a shop to do it.

Re: Exhaust shop
There's a lot more room under an 84 pickup than there is under one of these cars. A pickup exhaust wouldn't require nearly as many bends and ground clearance is much less of an issue.

Re: Exhaust shop
I would think a estimated $100.00 an hour for an experienced technician plus materials including the muffler would or could come to that .You are paying for his skill and knowledge.
If it could take him 5 hours to do it then charge you another $150.00 in materials including the muffler for a custom installation then that's about right.
Ask him what brand muffler it is and let us know.
That muffler is going to decide what the system is going to sound like.
Just letting him through any muffler he wants to is "not" the way to install any system.
It could be this one http://www.jegs.com/i/Flowmaster/389...rentProductId= if it is you will have the Flowmaster sound.
It’s there with every muffler they make to one degree or another and sets them apart from all others.
I have the 80 Series single 3in. in dual 3in. out Flowmaster American Thunder cat back and I love it.
