broken exhaust manifold bolt.
Rearmost on pass side. Would Reallllllllllllly like to avoid pulling the head off if at all possible. But space is pretty tight so I don't know how I'd get a drill in to do it.
Anyone have any tricks up their sleeves?

If you have to drill you might try using a angle adapter. =

spoke to a buddy his old man has a welder and torches so I think ill just weld a nut to the stud and put the heat to it. seems the easiest way

Re: broken exhaust manifold bolt.
I don't know how well PB-Blaster will react to that kind of heat but you can either soak it before or after you weld on the nut. Using it on this type of extraction is almost mandatory .
Its best to apply a few times and wait at least a few hours. Overnight is even better.

When all else fails, this and a center punch is what I use.

PB-Blaster is in a league of its own.

Pb blaster is good. Kroil is better. The new application specific wd40 is really surprisingly good.
Weld a nut to it, get as much heat in it as possible. Hit it with some penetrant as it cools, most will smoke off. I bet It will br loose by the time it cools

Will grab some pub blaster on my way home. Don't think they sell kroil around here but I'll check for that too. Feeling more and more confident about the weld a but to it idea. Thanks.

Re: broken exhaust manifold bolt.
If you can weld a nut, that would be your best bet. I have tried drilling with an angle drill and using an extractor to get the bolt out. Unfortunately, the extractor broke inside the bolt, complicating things that much more.

Re: broken exhaust manifold bolt.
Yeah man, like everyone else said just weld a nut to it. Done it many many times and it works the best. The extractors work well too, but you have to buy a nice set (snap-on/mac). Took me a few cheap broken extractors and four letter words till I bought a nice set.

Re: broken exhaust manifold bolt.
Thanks fellas. Sounds like weldings the plan. Been spraying the pb blaster to it every night since I started this thread, usually while the engine is hot. So here's hoping... Tomorrow is the day!

Re: broken exhaust manifold bolt.
They're on! Sound great and seem to have made some significant power gains over the manifolds according to the old butt dyno.
