Re: Ebay longtubes
I put them in from the bottom. They slipped right into place, just wouldn’t bolt down. Never trimmed the trans either.
I don’t know what the difference is and at this point I don’t care. I’m glad most people have an easier time. I’m just here mentioning what I went through. Mine are in and the car drives great with no noticeable collision damage. Overall I’m happy, I just had to put in a lot more work than I expected. I would still recommend anyone that wants longtubes to give these a shot.

Re: Ebay longtubes
anyone ever get these and just though a 3" muffler at the end of the Y connection? would be a lot easier than running over the axle. my current setup is hedman longtubes into s-extensions, x-pipe and flowmaster 44's.
thinking of getting these and putting a round magnaflow muffler right on the end of the Y. would that work?

it’s possible these really cheap ones are rejects from production for another supplier being sold out the back door for really cheap.
just a theory….
….as far as fitting a single muffler before the axle? It would have to be a shorter muffler but it would probably work.

Re: Ebay longtubes
Dropped the passenger side in from the top. Motor was jacked up. Removed the factory AC box for the install. Have test fitted the full size box and it will work but will be close.
The driver side needed to come up from the bottom.
Need a little more clean up but it is all going back together.
The headers fit well for the price. Had many of the same issues such as the drivers side control arm mount. The y-pipe did not have the funky junction but it is still not the greatest. The y pipes cleared the trans crossmember but it is hanging even lower than if clearance notched.
The provided u bolts are garbage and had a hard time sealing the headers and y-pipe. Swapped them out for butt sleeve style clamps. I’m going to take it to the exhaust shop and have them weld up some junctions and get a little more clearance.
I did not use the provided bolts or gaskets.
Mr. Gasket 7401G : Exhaust Gaskets, Aluminum
Mr. Gasket Company Headlock Locking Header Bolts - 2230G
Accel 8199 plugs but really only needed the short plugs on two tubes.
I had a set of MSD header wires at the house. Will probably swap them out because they are long.
