Y pipe for headers.
so i have a set of heddman headers and i want a 3 inch y pipe to connect to my 3 inch cat and magnaflow.. I can go to a local shop and they can custom bend me one or I can order a 2.5 inch from summit and just slap it on. I dont think the shop uses mandrel bends.
My question is... since my headers are 3 inch at exit will the 2.5 y pipe restrict enough to notice it?
HED-17478 is the y pipe.

Re: Y pipe for headers.
What's the PN for the headers you currently have installed?
That y-pipe mentions a 2.5 inlet. You mentioned 3" collectors? Are those Longtubes?
...I had a ton of trouble with my custom y-pipe, due to my hedman longtubes. It seemed every other week I'd destroy it lol.
I finally bought a set of Hooker 2055s, and they're awesome. Included is a factory routed 3" inch y-pipe. Tucks up nice and neat.
I literally cut the hedmans off with a saw on the passenger side, I was so excited.

Re: Y pipe for headers.
I would go with long tubes, but my custom tranny setup makes it next to impossible.
Right now my y pipe is a stock hack job.
The headers are heddman shortys. The collector is 3 inch and the proper y pipe is 2.5

Re: Y pipe for headers.
I found out my headers I believe are 2055 uncoated headers. Does the y pipe do ok?

Re: Y pipe for headers.
Has anyone tried to custom their custom 3" y pipe with the Hedman 18718 which is a extension from the y pipe and i believe from there all your need is a merge to the exhaust? If anyone has used it let me know thanks
