Pacesetter Headers good or bad?

I just got me a 85 Z28, it is all stock 305 700r4 trans. I have used headman headers before and like them but that was on a second gen. But these come with the y pipe, So complete with headers will run about 320 dollars. Now the thing is they dont have the A.I.R tubes on them, they are 50 state legal (they have the c.a.r.b exempt number with them)
So, has anybody ever used them? If so whats up did you have problems?
I am not ready to spend 300 plus on just headers (hooker ect...) alone, so this looks like a good deal for the price.
I am not dead set on them, I just like feedback and opinions before I make a move.
Thanks guys.

Re: Pacesetter Headers good or bad?

i dont know personally from them being on my own car but my cousin purchased pacesetter headers and y pipe from a guy on cl for his and he says he feels the extra umph only problem we had with them is when we first put em on it took a while to get them to seal up right... hes had em for over a year now and now probelems at all that im aware of and everytime somethin goes wrong with his car he asks me what i think so im assuming he would have told me about it

They are 1-1/2" primary tube, 2-1/2" y-pipe. Barely adequate for a completely stock 305. If you want to do more to up power later, they won't support it.

They've been bashed here often for poor quality, leaks being the #1 complaint. Fitment follows closely after.
