Re: Achieving better Y-Pipe Clearance

ive got this same problem but with my cat
i can literally stick my forearm inbetween the the car and the pipe
ive seriously considered putting a length of 2X8 on a jack and trying to bend it up higher
is this a reasonable thing to do?
what if i had a blowtorch to heat the metal first?

Re: Achieving better Y-Pipe Clearance

A Good muffler shop can do that for you.

this is how you would do it at Home..

get the car on Jack stands up Hi enof to get under and move.(you)

you will need a good jack.. and a thin sheet of alum
(tween pipe & car bottom) check see space..

put jack on Pipe.. run jack up till you see pipe pushing up.
start to heat pipe till red, apply a bit more force up and let cool.
check see space... is it moved up more.? repeat till done.

NOTE: pre loading the pipe with presher gives you a 2nd set of hands.
when the pipe is soft enof To MOVE..it will tweek upward from the presher. saving you the time to see if it is time to push it..

this can be done in more then one place...

this 3" cat back runs close to the bottom pan of the car.

other parts AKA lift bars sit lower.. (pips are tuck up nice and neet)
Y Pipe sitting up nice and High.. from Y cat back sits on yop of cross member up over rear.. and out. factry styl..
