Emissions questions here
OK, so I go back to emissions this week, for the fifth time since I moved to this state.
Cam has never passed. She's always off in one area or another by .02 or .04. I always have to run around to muffler shops, repair places, etc., to satisfy their stupid requirements of spending money without actually making the car any better (and a few times actually making it worse), before getting the obligatory waiver. Suck!
Bought and am adding a performance chip. Should I do before emissions testing or after?
Also, doing a tuneup with MSD stuff. Do before testing? I'm thinking yes.
Anyone use this Guaranteed to Pass stuff?
Thanks!

Re: Emissions questions here
Can't you just put in E85 for the test? It'll burn quite clean.

Looks like there's nowhere anywhere near me to get some, ROC. But thanks!

Don't you need a special setup to run E85? A guy that autocrosses in my region had to do all kinds of fuel system work and swap carbs in order to run E85 through his 72 Vette. Is it really any different for fuel injected cars?

Re: Emissions questions here
The Ethanol will degrade old rubber and seals. But if you got all steel lines and put in new seals i think you'd be good to go. With a tune for the higher octane you gonna see a power increase.
