Headers to Match AFR Eliminator 195 Port

Hi folks,
I received Fel-Pro 1404 exhaust gaskets with my AFRs, and the gasket matches the exhaust ports nicely; does anyone know how well this gasket matches up to Hooker 2055 headers? I am trying verify cylinder head exhaust port to header opening match up. Would like to get Dyno Don's headers, but I get no response to phone messages or PMs or e-mails (hello...Don...hello?).
Thanks for the help.
Bill

Not perfectly. The best bet would be to gasket match them. The best way to do that is to MIG weld around the tube on the outside of the flange, then you can open them up without worrying about grinding away the tube-to-flange weld.

I got away with just blending the corners to the gasket, but it isn't perfect. With bigger heads like the 195's, you might want to go the full weld/clean-up route.

five7kid,
Thank you for your input. Did you use Fel-Pro 1404, or the Hooker gaskets? I called Hooker tech to ask if the 1404 matched the header, they said, "Don't know, we don't use Fel-Pro gaskets".

...P.S.: Are you happy with the Hooker 2055s?....with no word from Dyno Don, I'm getting ready to order the Hookers next week.
Thanx again,
Bill

Bill:
I did respond ....10 sets are in the works, but I can't say when they will be ready. (I have to rely on the bender for the tubes).
2055's will cover part of the port=bad! Besides, they're 1 5/8's

Thanks much for the reply, Don. I will wait for the BEST parts (always the right thing to do...). Getting ready to do heads, cam & new headers....I am anxious, but not impatient. 'Got my VISA in hand.....just say the word!
