keep headers stock or not?
i am thinking of puting a stock 454 in my car but i wanted to know if the stock manifolds would give me some power and fit in my car, and the compression about 8:1,

Stock 454 from what? The ports might be different and putting stock manifolds is like choking a big 454. Put some longtubes on it or even shorty's.

i agree, let the 454 breathe better
just putting on a better intake or heads or both wont do much good if you still have the crappy exhaust
the engine is a big air pump it needs to be able to breathe efficiently- both in, and out
i dont think the 454 manifolds will clear the firewall
i tried to fit 70s large style common sbc manifolds on my 82 with a 70s 350 engine once and one of them wouldnt clear the firewall due to the top manifold outlet stud hitting the firewall
so i dont see BBC ones doing any better.
IMHO
if it were mine i would go for a set of summit or autozone headers, just plain ones to get it all hooked up and going, and then later one sometime down the road maybe get better ones
but thats just me
good luck
