yr/model for 4-bolt flange y-pipe?

What year/model thirdgen came with a four-bolt flanged connection between the y-pipe and the cat? I picked up a set of manifolds and y-pipe to replace the leaking stuff on my LG4 TA (want to keep it stock appearing and this stuff is much larger than the garden hose on there now). The y-pipe goes from round to oval and terminates in a flange with four bolt holes. I want to install the proper cat and narrowing this down should help when I get on the phone with Catco. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like '83-'86 ('85 for all practical purposes) L69.

Outstanding. Thanks for the help. Any recommendations on stock like cat-back?

I like the relatively soft sound of Hooker catbacks (except at WOT when they growl nicely). Summit, HOK-16822HKR. This system with the Catco and stock Y would bolt up easily.

Yes I like the 3 inch but the dual chrome tips would look out of place on the TA. I'm trying to keep it stock looking.

Which is why I used the stock tips.

JamesC: I'm getting ready to order this hooker setup. Were you able to use the tailpipes that came with the kit and not install the dual outlets? Did these or will these approximate the stock style? I no longer have the "stock" tips on mine but want to go back to the look.

I used the stock tips. You could use the Hooker tailpipes without the tips, but the tailpipes don't turn down like the OEM. Maybe pick some stockers up at a boneyard?

That answers my question. I'll try out the kit's tips then replace them with jy'ers if I need to. Got the mini-megaphones on there now the prior owner left me with.
