Anyone with the 4 bolt cat??? Look inside
I'm installing hedman hedders and y pipe on my 85 T/A and went with a universal fit cat, but can't seem to find an install kit for the 4 bolt flange to bolt it up to my exhaust pipe, anyone know where I can find one? It needs to go from 2 1/2" round to like a 3X2" oval with a thick metal rectangular flange with (of course) 4 bolt holes for mounting....I'd hate to have to buy the direct fit converter for $150 when I already have a cat, and I'd still be needing some kind of install kit to mount it up to the y-pipe....
Any kind of help would be appreciated. If I have to take it to an exhaust shop and pay them to fab it up, I would, but I'd really like to do the work myself, know what I mean??

Look on www.slponline.com they have the 4 bolt cat adapters they sell for their headers, one of those should work for you.

you can always carry the cat to the exhaust shop, have them fab up a connector, and bolt it all together yourself...
also, some high school autoshops have tubing benders, and they dont ask as many questions about why you need that.......

My next door neighbor's kids are in High School auto shop, and I'd have no problem getting them to fab up something, but the muffler shops wouldn't necessarily ask questions since I'm trying to actually hook up a cat instead of a straight pipe. I'm checking out slp right now, but am a little lost....I'll post back when I find something either online or info from the exhaust shop! Thanks for the tips so far, though!!!!
