Hedman Y pipe diameter?

What is the Hedman Y pipe diameter.......the Y pipe they manufacture for their shorty headers that fit 3rd gen F-bodies?

I think it is 2.5 if the y pipe says its for the f body than it will work...Kevin

I guess I really mean to ask what the diameter of the outlet side of the Y pipe is..........where the two pipes merge into one before they go into the cat....

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
The collectors (right off the headers) are 3"; these then neck down to something like 2¼", then it's 2½" after the 'Y' back to the converter. Hedman also supplies a 3" converter adapter, gaskets and bolts with the Y-pipe.

I think it is often tossed because of the 2 1/4" pipes. Hedman calls it a stock cat conv. y -pipe I think. If one could just come up with the right combo of mandrel 3" parts that would resemble that thing. I 'd pay that person for the info... believe me!

Check out the Hooker 2055's. they come with a nice 2 1/2 mandrel bent y pipe with a 3 inch collector.

I'd stick with the hedman's, 1 5/8" primarys and 3" collectors and no mounting problems.
