Blown 305 Swap To 350
So I own a 1987 Firebird Formula Tuned Port 305 and finally screwed my motor it lost oil pressure the other night and spun a bearing and the motor has been telling knock knock jokes now.
Anyway I know I’m swapping a 350 into it I believe I got just about everything figured out from posts on here. I know I need the Prom, ESC, Injectors and Knock Sensor from a 350 Tuned Port.
I think I’m gonna get a 96+ truck block for the roller cam and sell the Vortec heads because I cannot use them without the Scoggin Dickey intake which I don’t want to buy.
My question is what heads do I look for and buy? The internet tells me I can run 305 heads on a 350 but is that a good idea? Do I use the money from the Vortec heads and buy a set of L98 heads? Also do I get aluminum L98 heads or just ones from a 350 F Body? The car is just a daily cruiser that I want to build up as I get older but mainly just want to run again. Thanks everyone!

A set of #217 or #083 heads are stock L98 heads for Fbody cars. Probably the easiest and best route to take .You can find them reman from Powertrain Products IIRC. If you arent worried about makin a lot of power then truck TBI heads like 193 or even 305 heads 187 or 081s will work.
