305 Identification
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I just purchased a project vehicle and it appears to have a old 305 in it, previous owner was unaware of the origin of this vehicles engine so I thought I would try here. It looks like it has a casting number of 140 0202, but I can’t find any info that relates to it… I am attaching a picture also to see if you guys might have any insight, thanks

the traces of blue paint would indicate a 1977-82 engine-305 engines came out in 1976,LH dipstick through '79.RH after. most 305s 8.5 C/R but certain ones-;81 and later were 9.5

Re: 305 Identification
The Suffix code behind the water pump should give more info on what it came from the factory as.

Re: 305 Identification
I have seen some late build '82s with the black blocks. Did the van have the 9,5 305 like some 1/2 ton 305 pickups had ?(with ESC)
