383 stroker with Holley sniper EFI

I知 looking to put a 383 stroker with a holley sniper EFI in my IROC. I知 worried about hood clearance and the air intake and just wondered if anyone could show me pictures of their set up if similar? Thanks in advance for your help

What intake are you using on the 383?

It doesnt say which dual plane intake, but with that hood it should fit. Holley does make a drop base air filter base just for the sniper if you need extra room.

Thank you. I will look into it more and I was just hoping someone had some good pictures. I didn’t know if there was a way to get a cold air and take on there but I appreciate the help and will keep researching

That setup does look like it would fit. The Snipers are excellent for carburetor setup conversions, but they are sensitive to heat and electrical interference. It seems like Blueprint goes that route so they can have one intake for all applications. If I were starting from scratch, I'd be looking at a multi port fuel injection setup with an ecm in a less volatile location. Perhaps Blueprint could hook you up with a different setup if you call them?

With that hood you won't have to worry about clearance. I kinda miss my Sniper, never gave me any issues and ran damn good. My headers have no wrap so underhood temps got up there but the Sniper took it like a champ. I have driven from la to sd a few times and the Sniper never once had a hiccup. If you take apart the Sniper you will see the ecm is very well built. I don't know what kind of material but it looks really strong and heat resistant. Then again I only had it on my car a few months. Spectre makes a low profile dual snorkel air cleaner that gave me the clearance I needed. . I'm sure the Holley base is better quality.

My sbc with holley sniper and a billet specialties air cleaner fits under my 2" Glastech cowl hood with about 1.5" to spare. this is also with a 1/2" nitrous plate between the intake manifold and the sniper unit. I also had used a phenolic 1/2" style carb spacer at one point too. It all fist. Stock style motor mounts too. Dart block. Victor Jr single plane air gape manifold. Hood is as seen in the photos of my signature below
