so we finnaly got ahold of the 83 bird with a 350 sbc swap but I want to put different exhaust headers on as the ones that are on it has a pretty tight fit to get to the bolts and sparkplugs
any sugestions on a good hiflow set that will fit in there
hooker preferred :P
also motor has .30 bore with 83 corvett heads

Re: 83 f1 wi350sbc

The performance limiting factor is going to be the bottleneck "vett" heads. Not the exhaust. So deductive logic says it's not worth it to find headers for heads that aren't worth much.

headers of ANY brand come with all manner of BS headaches.cant get to the plugs. burned plug wires.having to make accessorys fit. NO company makes a set that just fit and work. you would think by now someone would have got a clue and changed their design to where they just fit with NO hammering ,dinging or other a$$ monkeying.

Re: 83 f1 wi350sbc

They are aggrevating but once you get em on they will drastically increase power on ANY sbc engine. Years ago i put headers along with a few other performance upgrades,"intake, carb, camshaft, gears, etc" on an Lg4 and made that slug perform pretty well. Im thinking serious on putting em on my stock Lo3 i bought in march i just havent found the time and honestly i remember how much of a '"B"+*" t was. Id imagine headers are a close to 20hp increase on our cars over our restrictive exhaust manifolds and you will definitely feel it when you hit that throttle! But certainly more aggrevating than stock manifolds.
