350 swap time
Well I believe the time to retire my old L03 is fast approaching. It would cost as much for a rebuild than to pick up a new crate 350, and Im rather sick of having v6 mustangs give me a run for my money. I was looking at this- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/na...9529/overview/
Any reviews, ideas, upgrades to it? I dont care one bit about street manners as this car is run hard on and off the track. Thanks!

Not worth the money IMHO if you plan to modify it. Flat tapped cam, crappy heads, bad pistons etc.
If you are looking to build a crate engine I would rather get a roller block. Or start cheaper so I am not throwing away so many parts I paid for.

Re: 350 swap time
The issue with the one you posted is that its 2 bolt main. I see where you are coming from though, im just trying to get a good base to build off of. Any recommendations?

Re: 350 swap time
Ill be using this for autocross, road racing, and a few drifting events. Id like to build it to rev up to around 6K RPM and not have to worry about stability. I heard that 2 bolts peak around there and I wouldnt want to chance it. I know the whole light weight rotating assembly is whats needed, just not sure where to start out as far as crate engines go. Cam and heads are obv going to change down the road so im not too worried there, just need to find a decent set up on the internals.

Re: 350 swap time
It is idiotic to talk about buying a NEW GM "crate" motor in one breath, and "Id like to build it" in the next.
It is doubly idiotic to talk about buying that phone company van replacement fleet motor, when what you're REALLY trying to do is something competitive.
It is TRIPLE idiotic to talk about buying a NEW GM crate motor when "Cam and heads are obv going to change".
The ONLY reason to buy that motor, is if all you need is a motor that "runs" and you want a warranty with it, but haven't the least hint of a whiff of a glimpse of a desire for "performance" of ANY kind whatsoever.
The INSTANT you turn a bolt in it, you just took about 80% of its purchase price out of your pocket and set it on fire, because you voided the warranty.
That motor doesn't have "a decent set up on the internals". It's got GARBAGE: cast dish pistons, cast crank, crap rods. Nothing you can re-use for anything resembling "performance".
If you want "performance", it's a FAR better idea to set yourself a goal and a budget, and DON'T BUY ANYTHING until you can afford the thing you want. Otherwise it'll take you several times as long to get there, as you deviate from the straight and direct path toward your goal with dead-end throwaway useless stuff you can't use but that absorbed your money ANYWAY.
Don't buy that motor. It isn't the path that leads toward "performance".

Re: 350 swap time
not worth it, consider building it yourself or ponying up for a performance engine. look into ATK engines, they will build withing your budget with the components of your choice then come deliver it to your house ready to put in
