Delta's trilogy: the 88 RS

Three years ago my ex cheated on me AND took a lot of my money forcing me to sell two of my other cars (98 Formula and a 88 Mustang GT) to dig me out of the problems she left me with. It's taken a LOT to recover from that, and I'm thankful for all the people that have helped me thus far. This is on top of me battling with constant health problems hindering my ability to get anything done. I'm 25 now, and I'm finally getting on with my life.. and that includes my most prized possession... my car. I have a completely built 355 that started out with a xe274 and smogger heads... now it's got a custom solid flat tappet with Dart Iron Eagles and a huge slab of other modifications that I'll get into later. What is NOT pictured is my full suspension laying all over my friends garage. I've learned a ton in three years, more than I'd ever think I would begin to know.. and there's still a lot left to learn, but today was very promising for me. I haven't been able to see my car for a very long time because its been kept at my friends house and him and I have both been in and out of hospitals over the same time period. I guess it really brings things into perspective on what's important, as well as things like this making your day... even if it's just getting a few pictures.

When I first bought it...

About 6 months after she took all my money while I was recovering. She took my money KNOWING I had engine problems at the time, and that's what I was left with. Heh. Wasn't going to sell it, though... nor let her horrible personality take a toll on the thing I love most.. my thirdgen.

Fastforward to today...

Hopefully by the end of next week we'll get it running. Should be running real strong. I've had to shop selectively over my parts over the past few years because my hours got cut back so hard.... mostly due to my health. I am glad to finally see my dream car coming out to everything I wanted it to be and so much more.

The color is going to be black with red stripes (like the red of my car now).

Also going to mount my SS wheels that just got powdercoated last thursday.

Will continue to post more pics/videos later on this week hopefully. Today has been a great day.

Good to hear you are pushing through all the rough times you have been going through... Looks like it's going to be a fun build. I am liking the wheels... I have a set in storage I have been thinking on putting on my Formy.

Re: Delta's trilogy: the 88 RS

I hope that you are getting past alot of the health problems first.
It is great to see that you are motivated to work on your car and get it back on the road.
I haven't had the health problems but my ex left me with many bills and with time got them paid off. I also bought two project cars, my Firebird and a Tbird, and am starting gathering parts for a V8 TPI T56 swap into my 91 Firebird. My ex will be real mad when I get the Bird going because it is a sporty car and she was upset I bought it despite being apart for more than 3 years. As we have a daughter together we still see each other when I have my weekend custody.
Good luck with the car and glad to see it coming together. I like the black and red paint scheme. The wheels look good with the black powder coat.

More pictures coming soon. Got some new parts also. I think I'm going to take some of this money off selling some Ford parts and pay someone to redo my seats. I still can't believe it's been 7 years total I've owned this car.. sometimes I forget that because it's been sitting for awhile, heh.
