Stock gauges

I swapped a carbed 350 into my Camaro and Am trying to get the gauges all working now. I dont have a temp sender or oil pressure sender so I wanted to check if these are the right ones I need.

Coolant temp sender

Oil pressure sender

I should be able to pop these on the motor and just connect a spade connector form the stock wires and it should work right? Oil pressure wire is tan and coolant temp is dark green?

Thanks

Re: Stock gauges

If those are the right senders for a 1990 Camaro, they'll work.

Re: Stock gauges

You don't want a coolant sensor for the ECM. The ECM doesn't operate the gauges.

Re: Stock gauges

Ok, so I bought and installed those senders and hooke dup the wires that go to the gauges and I get nothing. Only gauge working is the volts one. I am running an 86(carb) engine wiring harness with 90 gauges. Is this a problem? I checked fuse for guages and its fine.

Re: Stock gauges

The route i am going is just to buying a a-pillar gauge pod, then get a coolant and oil gauges for it.

I wonder if those are switches rather than senders. If so, they won't do anything when operating normally.

Although the oil pressure should peg with ignition on and engine not running if it's a switch.

Re: Stock gauges

Well the are both ar zero and not moving. I measered the resistance on the coolant sender adn the resistance changes steadily as the motor heats up. I already hav e a a pillar pod but thats reserved for a couple other gauges

Re: Stock gauges

Oh yeah and the oil pressure sender said it was for a 60 psi gauge so i dont think it is just a switch
