305 to 350 engine block swap
I am looking to swap my current 305 block with a 350 one. Would the external engine parts that i currently have be compatible with the 350 block?

Yes, especially if you're swapping in a block of the same vintage.

Yes, but you'll need to change the flywheel or flexplate.

Sorta. I think your intake manifold bolts need to be modified, at least the center two.
Aside from that I think you're good to go, it's still a flat tappet setup, and runs 193 heads... It's far from a high performance 350, but at least you're doing better with cubes.
What induction do you have now?
You know, that sidebar where members put their car info? It's pretty handy, that saves me (and everyone else in future threads) having to ask.

Uhhh huh.... So far so good.
This is a long block in the link, with 193 heads. I just assumed he was putting his 1986 Carbed intake and carb on top.

So would it make more sense to stick with the 86 350 block or a newer one?

With the later block you could run a factory roller cam setup. Other than that I wouldn't care.

Exactly. I'd get that as a shortblock though, there isn't much you can do with 193 heads. Or the lame peanut roller cam they'd give you, for that matter.

they do offer perfomance options. What heads and roller cam would you suggest that would not break the bank?

Re: 305 to 350 engine block swap
Performance cams all cost more or less the same, so it doesn't matter what you choose there. Your choices depend somewhat on what you're intending to do with the car.
