Dumb (ignorance, really) question: What's the big plate bracket for?
Okay, two dumb (ignorance) questions: Did you fabricate that, or is it aftermarket?

That plate will hold my coils b/c I'm not usin' the crap cap/rotor in the opti. The "plate" came w/ the coils, and I fabbed that bar and a spacer u can't see out of alum. to hold 'em. Polished it out, looks nice

What's wrong with the opti? I know a bunch of people who are running it, one specifically that's running 6.80's in the 1/8th turning it to around 7100 RPM

some people have Opti's crap out after a few thousand mines, some have them last a relative eternity (me).
I've been pleased with mine so far. It's lasted almost 100k miles and should be leading me into low 11's soon.

I figure, before I go screwin' w/ the opti, since I don't even KNOW how well it works, might as well go all out and get coils, etc....I hear ppl run them forever, and I hear all the trouble w/ 'em...Might as well have the best parts, rather than piece meal it together in the future

Big thing that kills them is when you put a bigger cam in the car and if running the pinned opti they don't get the pin in right and it ends up killing the opti.
