92' 305 TBI to a 350 TBI

I was hoping someone could help me , maybe someone has tried this. I want to convert my 305 TBI to a 350 TBI , I want to be able to do this without having to change the computer or do any wiring changes. I would like to install a 350 short block and add vortec heads and a new TBI manifold with a larger CFM throttle body, and add headers and cat-back system and do a ECM programming . Can I do this without changing the computer is my main question ?

You can retain the ECM but you will need to change the chip. Off the shelf chips will not suffice and you will be required to burn your own. The only plug and play chip you can get away with is if you use a stock LO5 from a B-body and steal the chip with the motor. The B-body chips are compatable with the LO3 ECM. If you mod the engine, which is sounds like you are doing, you will still want to look into chip burning. It is the only way to make your motor run the way you intend. Vortec heads will require a vortec specific intake manifold. There is only one vortec TBI manifold available and GM's price tag on it is heafty. Most run a carb intake with a TBI adapter plate. Carb intakes are anot all plug and play. Some don't have EGR (if you need it) and all will require you to re-locate the brake booster hook-up. You may want to consider a set of 305 TPI heads (416's or 081's) and or a set of 193 swirl port 350 heads. With slight port work all three heads have been proven to suport an honest 300hp and 400+lbft of the good stuff. Take some time to use the search function. The 305 TBI to 350 TBI swap is very common and is covered in great detail. A few searches should yeild you the answerrs you are looking for. There is more to cover than what I can type in this post. Famaliarize yourself with the stickies in the TBI forum to get you started.

I was planning on a custom burn chip because of so many parts will be performance parts . I think I was going to go with edelbrock vortec heads , and a TBI vortec manifold . I 'm not sure yet on all the emisson stuff . I would like to get rid of it all , but not sure yet.
