Anyone Running a LT1 engine in their car?
Well i just bought a 95' LT1 350 from a 9C1 Caprice cop car. It has only 16,000 miles on it. Now i cant wait to put it in. Just wanted to see if anyone is running a LT1?

It is very popular and there are numerous people out there that have done it. The aftermarket has also caught up to supply packages including any parts you may need.

Ive got one and I love the swap so worth it I got the LT1 and 6 speed and Im running 8.5 in the 1/8th and 13.3 in the 1/4 I expect those times to drop because I just installed the LT4 hot cam kit and electric water pump and raced a car that runs 12.3 in the 1/4 and worked him pretty good havent had a chance to get to the track yet

I would guess more people have used the aluminum headed f-body or Vette LT1's than the iron headed Caprice type, though.

I'm running the Vette version but I also have a 9C1 Lt1 sitting in the corner of the garage I just picked up. The 9C1's only disadvantage(if you can call it that) is that it has iron heads making it HEAVIER. Other than that, it has a slightly milder cam. The hp is 260 and torque about 330 I believe. If I'm not mistaken, the torque is higher than on the versions. The heads, I've read, port better. Good luck and check out the sticky's at the top

The Lt1 produces 300 hp @ 5000 rpm, 285 hp @ 5200 rpm and 260 hp @ 5000 rpm for Corvette, Camaro and Caprice/Impala SS respectively. It produces 335 lb.-ft. torque at 4000 rpm, 325 lb.-ft. @ 2400 rpm and 330 lb.-ft. @ 2400 for Corvette, Camaro and OBD II (On-Board Diagnostics Second Generation) is standard.
This was taken from naisso I believe.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. This should be a very good swap. I've read that the Iron heads flow 20 cfm more than the aluminum version. The 95' vette had 300 hp@5000 and 340 torque@4000. Lunati397 was that 13.3 with any modifications or not? And does anyone know if i get the SS air intake system, will the ASCD SS hood work for ram air at all?

I've had my lt1 in my Iroc for 3 years now. I love it . I have run a best of 12.94@112 on a humid 85 degree night, on street tires. I am shopping for wheels as we speak and plan on running some wide drag radials. hopefully those will lower my pathetic 2.18 60' considerably.
Do the swap it's well worth it.
