Engine Swap: Vats module??

I have a 95 LT1 out of a caprice, I have the harness and computer with it. Question is, is their a seperate module I needed for the vats to work, or is it all controlled by the computer?

If I need a Vats module, can I just use the one from my 91 RS, or do I need the one from the car?(P.S. I no longer have access to donor car)

If it only involves the computer, what wires do I use to test the resistance for the Vats? I found someone who can get the key for me if I can figure out the resistance.

Thanks for the help!!!!!

Matt

I'm pretty sure the vats from your car won't work. I belive one was paskey one and the 95 is pass key two. I'f your not two worried about theft the bypass module is very easy to install it only takes three wires. I didn't look in to this too much when i did mine b/c mine is an 86 and doesn't have it.

Car: 1990 Formula
Engine: 95 LT1
Transmission: T56
Axle/Gears: Weak 7.5 with 4.10s
The two pass-key systems are different. I used a painless wiring vats bypass module on my swap. I will be having vats programmed out of my computer as soon as I can. This is just an option I am presenting to you.

Thanks for the options, I might just end up not using vats, although I like how hard it makes it to steal your car!

Thanks, Matt

Engine: LT1

The passkey (I) that you have in your car won't work with the 95 LT1, you'll need Passkey II.

It is not really an option to not use vats because your car will not work without it. Unless of course, you get the ECM reproggrammed or purchase a vats bypass module.
